I am grateful to be part of various software and systems development communities, with my favorite being the hashtag#IBMi community. This platform and its technologies have been my cornerstone for quite some time.

The hashtag#IBMi community on LinkedIn is vibrant and dynamic, and I’ve been striving to find my voice within it. My aim is to contribute in a way that elevates the community as a whole. With so many talented content creators focusing on RPG, SQL, PASE programming, AI, API integration, and security and operations management, I find it challenging to add my voice without overshadowing their excellence.

If there’s one thing I could add to this community, it would be this fundamental principle: Communication is key. We should engage in discussions, pose challenges, share insights, and provide encouragement. Let’s move beyond mere commentary to meaningful communication.

Drawing inspiration from Jeff Atwood, the co-founder of Stack Exchange, and his book “Effective Programming: More Than Writing Code,” which emphasizes the importance of effective communication among programmers, especially in written form.

I urge you to join me in stepping up your engagement. Instead of casual comments, let’s write responses that expand upon and enhance the original posts. While it’s easy to resort to sarcastic remarks, it ultimately hinders progress. Let’s strive for constructive and meaningful interactions.

I am committed to improving my online communication by following this advice and fostering ongoing discussions within the hashtag#IBMi community. Together, we stand to gain a great deal and risk even more.
